Located at the natural borders of Messinia and Laconia, within the mountain village of Ambeliona at 850m height, the Abeliona Retreat is perfectly blending in the lush, verdant scenery and offers an exceptional environment where silence is an absolute value.

The 22 spacious rooms are built in the traditional Arcadian style. They all have a fireplace and combine perfectly the traditional style with the modern comfort.

After a full day of activities, hikes and walks, enjoy your favourite drink, coffee, wine or drink in the relaxing atmosphere lounge area.

At the restaurant enjoy the rich breakfast and a variety of daily menus based on local recipes and certified local organic ingredients, with appealing choices for vegetarians, health-conscious individuals and meat-eaters alike.

You will taste fruits, vegetables and herbs, many of which are handpicked from the Retreat’s vegetable garden and greenhouse, just a short time before being served, while the eggs come directly from the property’s grain-fed, free range chickens.

Lying serenely on the highest point of the property, the Yurt affords a truly remarkable view. This 80 sq. m energy-emitting dwelling boasts a unique spiritual ambiance, and is dedicated to yoga, meditation and all kinds of therapeutic group activities.

The hiking paths “Apollo Trails”

The hiking paths Apollo Trails have been marked by the Abeliona Retreat owners and cover 90km of breath-taking routes between the impressive chestnut and the stone built villages around the area. The soft soil, the altitude differences and the continuous alternations of landscape make the perfect background to practice Hiking, Mountain bike or Trekking. More information HERE
