Description

Southeast of Heraklion, 12 km from Ierapetra, the Dorovinis traditional guest houses, built in the picturesque village of Anatoli are a beautiful destination in an authentic and peaceful environment with panoramic views to the Libyan Sea and to the island of Chrissi.

The houses are spacious, bright and have a wonderful sea view. Wood and stone dominate and give the space a warm, welcoming atmosphere. To retain the authentic atmosphere, the owners have used authentic furniture of the neoclassical era and decorated the rooms with works by contemporary Greek artists.

Upon arrival, you will find a welocme basket filled with local products and all the necessary to prepare your first breakfast (milk, coffee, tea, eggs, cheese, honey, jam, butter) and all kinds of spices, oil and raki.

Access Information

Driving from Heraklion: (100 km, 1 hour and 30 minutes or so) Take the Heraklion-Agios Nikolaos National Road and then towards Kalo Horio, Kalamafka and finally Anatoli Alternative route from Agios Nikolaos: towards Ierapetra and then to Anatoli Arriving in Anatoli, follow the main street of the village. To the Pasiphae residence: turn right at the old oil mill and park in front of the old elementary school about 100 meters further away. Then follow on foot the first steps in the walkway to your left and in 20m you will see the Pasiphae residence . A sign will guide you. For the Smaragda residence, walk past the old oil mill, follow the directions towards Malles-Kalamafka and then turn right to Kalamafka. Just before you reach the exit of the village, park on the plateau located on the main road and follow on foot the small alley on the right. After 50 meters, turn right again. The Smaragda residence is located 10 meters further away to your left and there is a sign.

Walk around and explore marked trails, accompanied by the owners, qualified guides or on your own, starting from your place of stay or within 10 km.
Anatoli is a large traditional village with interesting architecture. One can admire some beautiful renovations while walking in the flower-filled streets.

In the central square, you will find a small taverna and a mini-market. Another restaurant that is famous for its food is located at the entrance of the village.

Do not forget to visit the Byzantine churches of the area and dedicate some time for a beautiful evening stroll.

Anatoli is also an ideal point from which to visit the surrounding area and the Chrissi Island, from Ierapetra.

The nearest beach is 12 kilometers away and there are many other beaches in the area.

At the entrance of the village there is a small farm that you can visit and taste organic products, go on donkey rides along the paths of the village or go on longer excursions for a picnic.
