At an 800 m height, in a mountainous landscape with total tranquility, stay at the “Eaglesʼs outpost” offers a unique experience for you. Aetovigla is just 4 km away from Kroussonas, the main village, and 25 km from Heraklion.
At the center of the estate you will find the big swimming pool and the pool for the children. The space is beautifully decorated with sun umbrellas and sun beds, while the view is simply magnificent.
There is a vegetable garden at the guests disposal. The guests can cook simple foods with fresh season’s vegetables (tomatoes, eggplants, zucchini).

From Heraklion: (25 km, 45' min approx.)
Take the National Road towards Rethymnon. After the village of Gazi follow the direction to Kroussonas.
Cross the village and, in continuation, follow the signs for Monastery of Ag. Irini and for “Aetovigla”.
The Traditional Cottages “Aetovigla” are situated 4 km away from the village and there are signs that will lead you there.

The closest excursion you can make from the guesthouse is to the women’s monastery of Aghia Irini (1.5 km away.) You can also do trekking through the Aghia Irini gorge.
An interesting trip with a car through a dirt road of medium difficulty would lead you to the Kroussanioniko plateau at 1,200 m height where Mitata (the domed buildings of the shepherds are) and large estates with apple trees can be found.
The mountain next to Aetovigla is called Gournos and is a «Natura 2000 protected area», where various species of birds reside and the last pairs of Gypaeti (a species of birds of prey that is in extinction) have nests.
The closest beach is Gazi, 16 km from the guesthouse.
