Description

A rare jewel of the Cyclades, Santorini is the most spectacular of the Aegean islands. Four kilometers east of Fira, the island's capital, on the way to Oia, the traditional guest house, Aghios Artemios, opens its doors to the vaulted rooms that have been renovated in a surprising manner and have been transformed into quaint houses, surrounded by a space of unique beauty, overlooking the blue of the Aegean Sea. A warm welcome from its owners who take care of the comfort of their guests.

Perfectly in tune with the typical Cycladic surroundings, this traditional cave residence of the 15th century, restored with full respect to the traditions and the local architecture, now houses stylish studios and suites offering an aura of coolness and tranquility.

In the large paved courtyard, an all-white church, perfectly preserved, gives the place an atmosphere of devotion and at the same time relaxing. The church can be used for weddings and christenings.

The space is so fabulous, as the owners have created beautiful indoor and outdoor facilities, that caters for so much: for unforgettable social events, art exhibitions or fashion photography, without causing the slightest inconvenience to the guests of the houses.

Breakfast is prepared with care by the owners and is served buffet-style in the breakfast room or terrace with a view to the sea.

The pool area is beautifully landscaped with a pool-bar, sun beds and sun umbrellas so that you can enjoy a refreshing swim with a view to the sea and have lunch or a drink, depending on your mood.

Guest Inn Opinion

The cave houses of Aghios Artemios will amaze you with their beautiful background: the light from the blue and white colors where authenticity meets modern comfort and they harmoniously blend. A good value for your money is certainly one of the strong advantages and contrasts with the often excessively high prices on the island. Lovers of quality and of innovative holiday will be stunned with it!

We spent our vacation in this location form 1st till 8th of August and we rented a junior suite. When we booked this location, we were interested by the idea of cave houses. The pictures of the site seemed to be nice and the price was interesting. Site advertising:  Pictures that you see on the web site are in accordance with the reality. Location: From this location we have the view of the sea .The site is beautiful (especially at night), holds a small church (that you can visit) and a pool ,and as it is located a bit outside is very quiet.Lodging: In the cave house we  appreciated the cool air temperature during the day as well as during the night. In addition no air conditioning. Design is very refined white for walls and blue for door and panels. Stay inside is very relaxing. The cave holds a fridge and the bed is of very good quality. Miscellaneous: Breakfast is of good quality and you can eat at the pool for a  fair price with a food of good quality (congratulation to the cook). Pool and breakfast place are the occasion to discuss with other customers and share our experience and discuss with Artemios. Artemios, the owner is very attentive to customer need -- thanks for his assistance. By the way, he is not invasive. The employees are smily, attentive to client even if with the language barrier we can go to some misunderstanding -- but this also is the charm of an abroad stay. Overall estimation: We really enjoyed our stay at this location and will keep of very good souvenir of these vacations. I would say that this is a place where you feel close to be at home.

There is a gym, a tennis court, and a mini football court. You can also play basketball, volleyball and table tennis on the premises.
There is also available, upon request, a Home Cinema appliance.

The guest houses are ideally located 1.5 km from the Vourvoulos village and just 4 kilometers from the island capital of Fira, which is a fascinating, lively town where you can enjoy the spectacular views of the Caldera, go shopping in the countless shops, or even stroll the narrow streets with the bougainvilleas.

Do not miss a visit to Oia, one of the most beautiful villages of Greece. The place is unique and the view to the volcano, the sea and the caldera is really incredible. The sunset in Oia can not be compared to any other and therefore the atmosphere in the region always emits romance.

When you enter Oia, you will see Finikia, a small preserved traditional village with cave homes, where there is no access to cars. You can only go to the narrow alleys of the village by donkeys...

The closest beaches are Baxedes, Kouloumbos and Pori.
