Description

Twenty minutes away from Heraklion, in the quiet rural village of Kato Assites, three houses, called "Assion Lithos", offer you a traditional stay in a place that harmoniously blends authenticity with modern comfort. You will be warmly welcomed by the owners, in lush and luxurious surroundings with a beautiful pool which is the background of your holidays.

Built on two levels with absolute respect to the local architecture, the houses have been built in a beautiful natural environment and each can accommodate 8-10 persons.
 
Every house has two apartments and studios on the ground and first floor that are comfortable and well equipped. Two of the houses can be rented as a whole or you can rent any one of the separate apartments. The third house has a restaurant, a bar and a breakfast area open to a large verandah.
 
At the heart of the 1,500 sq.m. landscaped garden, there is a large swimming pool with sun beds and umbrellas.There is also a barbecue and a traditional oven that are available to guests.
 
In each house or apartment, you will find coffee, sugar, local teas, olive oil and raki.

Séjour très agréable à Asion Lithos : logement de belle taille pour 4 personnes, terrasse avec vue sur les collines environnantes. Bel espace piscine. Le ménage est fait régulièrement (enlèvement des déchets, changement des serviettes...). Personnel agréable et discret. Lieu calme; à 20 mn de Heraklion et 45 mn de Matala. Départ de randonnées à partir du gîte (dont une de 4 à 5 heures au dessus du village avec 700 mètres de dénivelés...magnifique). Petit déjeuner moyen; cher pour la Crète à 7 Euros par personne. Dîner possible, et c'est plutôt bon ! Les informations ne sont pas toujours très claires (tarifs des extras ? les propriétaires ont aussi une taverne ?) et pas beaucoup d'idées pour nous aider à découvrir la Crète (à par les classiques connus de tous). On aimerait un peu plus d'implication sur ce sujet. Nous conseillons néanmoins cet endroit, chic et calme.

Un endroit parfait pour se reposer, trés charmant, décoré avec énormément de goût et où il fait bon vivre quelques jours. Trés bon accueil. Les prestations décrites ont été au RDV, pas de mauvaise surprise.

Access Information

From Heraklion (22 km, approx. 20 minutes) Take the National Road Heraklion - Rethymno and, in continuation, take direction for Mires. At the crossroad of the University Hospital of Heraklion, follow the direction for Kato Asites and, at the crossroad for Voutes, Agios Myronas and Asites, turn right and follow the indications for Voutes – Agios Myronas - Pyrgos - Kato Asites. Arriving in the main square of Kato Asites, follow the signs that will lead you to the Guest House.

Walk around and explore marked trails, accompanied by the owners, qualified guides or on your own, starting from your place of stay or within 10 km.
Stay near the major archaeological or historical sites in Greece up to 30 km from your place of stay
Lovers of hiking will find here their heart’s desire; the village of Asites is located at the foot of Psiloritis Mountain, very close to the marked pathway E4 ( Venerato-Asites ).

For the most experienced, it is about 1 hour walk from the village of Asites up to the Prinos refuge at 1.200 meters.

You will have the opportunity to participate in organized excursions to Psiloritis Mountain.

Do not miss visiting the archaeological site of Ancient Trizinia at 2 km and the Monastery Moni Palianis near Venerato.

The nearest beaches are those of the north coast: Amoudara at 15 km and Ligaria close to Agia Pelagia, at 30 km.

The lovely beaches of the southern coast are approximately 40 km away: Kalamaki, Komos and Agios Pavlos and the beaches of wilder character: Agiofarago, Vathi and Marsalo.
