In the heart of the mount Olympus peaks, in the mountain village of Agios Dimitrios and at the height of 900 meters above sea level, the guest house Dimatis, owned by the family since 1928, is a mountain retreat, in a very warm ambience. Ιt is also well known as a culinary stop, as well as a place for both restful and active vacations.

Situated in a unique natural landscape, dominated by the imposing Mount Olympus, the guesthouse Dimatis has been tastefully renovated in 2011. It is perfectly located for both relaxing and active holidays.

The rich traditional breakfast consisting of fresh local produce and homemade bread baked in a traditional oven, various pies, marmalades etc is being served in the restaurant, while during summer you can enjoy it either on the beautiful verandah full of flowers or in the garden with view of the Mount Olympus.

Do not miss one of the restaurant’s specialties - the wild boar and taste the fine wines from the cellar.

Alternative access : National road Athens-Lamia-Salonica. Exit in Katerini and then direction towards Elassona. From Thessaloniki: National road Salonica-Katerini. From Katerini at a direction towards Elassona, 100 kms, 2 hours approx. The Dimatis guest house is located by the main street of the village.

Do not omit to visit the farm of family Dimatis that lies in an area of 100 acres, it is situated at an altitude of 1050 meters and is full of wild boars and deer.

The owners will guide you with great joy. Near the property is the archaeological site of Agios Dimitrios where you can visit the ancient Spathes and Mycenaean cemetery.

Starting from the farm, a dirt road, in good condition, leads you to the peaks of mount Olympus at 2.350 meters above sea level. From this point, experienced trekkers must allow for 1 hour trekking to the peaks of the Mitika and Sholio. You can also ask for an experienced mountain guide.

Τhe region lends itself to the lovers of mountain biking and alpinism. The Dimatis family is always willing to advise you about all the activities that will enhance your stay, help you to enjoy the fullness of magical wealth of mount Olympus and discover the region.
