At a distance of 25 km from Mytilini, the capital of the island, and at the heart of an olive grove full of perennial trees, “Eleonas Geras” is inviting you to a relaxed stay, just opposite of Gerasʼ bay. Wonderful environment and the warm welcome are only some of the highlights of this special farm which is also the ideal stop for those that are combining nature and exploration with the experience of being few steps from the sea.

The four traditional residences are built and renovated with respect to the local architecture and are interspersed within the farm. 

The rooms, houses and studios are luminous and comfortable. They are also very tastefully and carefully furnished and decorated. 

The main building accommodates 9 studios as well as a hospitable lobby-reception where you may ask for all relevant information concerning the region. In this same place you may also buy some quality local products.

In the flourished garden you may relax and freshen up under the shadow of the large courtyard next to the traditional wood baking oven and enjoy a rich breakfast made of the freshest local products straight from the farm, including amongst others fresh fruits, home-made marmalades and cakes.

Very often, bread is prepared and baked in the traditional oven. Breakfast is also served in the room, upon request. Every morning, Alexandros, the farm’s owner, will offer you some fresh vegetables straight from his garden.

Access Information

By sea : From Piraeus, 7 - 9 hours by boat. From Thessaloniki, 10 hours by boat. By Air : Daily flights from Athens El Venizelos Airport, 45 min. flight. From Thessaloniki, Macedonia Airport, 45 min. flight. Charter flights from several European cities during the summer. From the port or the airport of Mitilini, follow the direction towards Kalloni and then to Gera-Plomari-Perama-Marmaro. The Farm “Eleonas tis Geras” is located 1500 meters after the village of Marmaro to your right and there are signs that will lead you to it.

Stay on a farm, meet the locals, discover many agricultural activities and try local products

A quite road with no traffic is separating the farm from a small sandy beach offering you natural shadow while the nice Tarti beach is only few kilometers away.

Crossing the bay on boat, you may visit the nice beach of Agios Ermoyenis (which we would not suggest on weekends).

Alexandros is organizing short boat rides around “Geras” bay for his guests with his own boat.

We suggest some amazing walking tours in Geraʼs Valley, through the signaled “Olive roads” starting from the village Pappados (10 km away).

You may take this same ride by car.

A horse riding centre at a distance of 20 km, horse riding in the countryside and in the “Olive roads”.

Diving school in Mytilini 25 km away.

In the farm, at the end of the day, you may attend and even participate to the goatsʼ milking and the donkeysʼ feeding process.

The olives harvest, by the end of each year, is a unique experience which is taking place in an absolute festival spirit.

200 m from the farm, the tavern called “To Marmaro” is offering you a delicious home made cuisine with many local specialties and fresh fish for fish lovers.
