Appartement avec vue remarquable et situé à mi chemin entre la côte est et Ouest du Magne, donc très bien situé pour découvrir la pointe sud du Péloponnèse. Gite dans le style montagnard, spacieux, dépaysement et tranquillité garantie! Le panier de nourriture du matin est parfait, et Georges est vraiment attentionné en répondant à notre demande d'échange d'un aliment, merci à lui. Les informations sur l'isolement du gite sont claires, sachant que la taverne du village est parfaite pour manger le soir, accueil sympathique et bonne cuisine. Seuls quelques petits bémol, salle de bain sans faïence, donc murs autour de la baignoire se dégradant, manque d'un petit plan sur le site pour trouver vraiment le gite, mais les personnes de la taverne nous ont bien orientés. Le site web du gite présente des chemins de randonnées et de visite autour et à partir du village, mais que nous n'avons pas trouvé sur place, ni dans le gite, ni dans le village, de plan nous guidant vers le point de départ. Malgré cela nous avons passé 3 journées à découvrir la splendeur de cette région.

By Road from Athens (300km, 4 hours approx.)

National road Athens-Korinthos-Tripoli, and in continuation Sparte and Gythion.
3 km before Gythion, turn to the right towards Areopolis and then follow the signs for Skoutari. Before arriving to Skoutari, turn right and drive up the hill where, at the top, you will arrive to the village Drosopigi.

The Philothea Guest House is located 200 meters from the main square of the village and there are signs which will lead you to it.

To see / To do

Walk around and explore marked trails, accompanied by the owners, qualified guides or on your own, starting from your place of stay or within 10 km.
Drosopigi is a very picturesque and authentic village, with only 30 habitants during winter time, but it is livelier in the season.

A small road bypasses the village for a nice walk (1/2 hour).
The interesting Panagitsa church with frescoes from 1863 and the old olive press in the village can be visited (key with the owner).
For fans, hike to the top of the hill at 800 meters (1h30)

Githio City, east gate of Mani, is the starting point of the visit to Laconian Mani, wander through the old town and enjoy fresh fish along the harbor in one of the many taverns.

Wonder around Areopoli, the quiet town with the stone paved roads, the small shops that offer traditional arts and crafts, the churches and the Byzantine chapels.

Visit the amazing cave of Diros, which is among the most impressive natural beautiful sites of Greece. A pleasant beach with white pebbles can also be found nearby.

Do not omit to visit Gerolimenas, a small fishing village hidden in a rocky gulf with a pebbly beach and the magical Limeni with its beautiful blue water.

Visit the traditional renovated village Vathia and further along the sandy beach of Marmari.

You will also find beautiful sandy beaches Skoutari (nearest to the guesthouse at 10km), Mavrovouni, Vathi and Kamares.

All around, you can admire the impressive towers of Mani which arise here and there and overlook the sea, from the top of high rocks.
